Suck

Year Released: 2010
Main Stars: Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Malcolm McDowell, some rock dudes and some kids.
Last watched: September 2011
Number Watches: 1

The premise is cliched but might have worked if there had been any backbone to the main characters performance. To be fair, they do what the script asks it’s just that there’s no substance except for the french kid who I thought was Russian. He at least gives a bit of interest.

The music is boring and that’s a shame as it’s got to be the main reason the film was made – promise of a stompin’ sound track.

It’s a college project with a bigger budget and a cast including famous peeps but it’s all been done before and better. Alice, Iggy and Henry Rollins give good performances and really show up the dull ‘rock’ band the film is about but there’s not enough of them in the plot to make up for the lacklustre script and tedious dialogue.

Watching the DVD extra shows that the songs, script and direction were all down to one man who thought it would be good fun. This is the kind of movie I would have made – (ok, probably a lot better but that’s not the point) – amateur. Not putting the guy down but the film does what it says on the box, Sucks.

Keep DVD?
No.
Watch if on TV?
No. It’s rubbish and should be ignored.
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Avoid.

About Simon Trail

There has long been a tradition that a knight will show a crest and / or motto of his family. I shall endeavour to provide such a distinguishing and immediately descriptive thingy over my management of this site. Please be patient. Or Doctor if you're David Tennent.
