Real Steel

Year Released: 2011
Main Stars: Robots, Hugh Jackman and her from Lost, Evangeline
Last watched: March 2015
Review Date: October 2011
Number Watches: 1

Hugh is convincing, the robots aren’t, the kid is ok. It’s a family film that is best for kids and their grandparents. In that event, it’ll keep them amused for a while. For grown ups there is very little. The robot fights are a bit poor and the final battle looses to the logic of the situation.

The very start is good, with a tired truck driver looking to pedal a tired trade. After that, it’s not good enough.

Not enough fun.

Update: March 2015: Watched again. Actually ok this time around but still a lot empty.

Keep DVD?
Nah.
Watch if on TV?
Nah.
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Avoid. Sorry, Hugh, not good enough.

About Simon Trail

There has long been a tradition that a knight will show a crest and / or motto of his family. I shall endeavour to provide such a distinguishing and immediately descriptive thingy over my management of this site. Please be patient. Or Doctor if you're David Tennent.
