Good film. Michael is perfect in this and so are the girls, especially Mary. Kieran is also spot on with timing and character. They all kick ass. Sorry, that’s another movie although it is surprisingly similar…

American movies do this kind of thing a lot – if there’s one about an everyday kid with super powered dreams that seem to come alive, then there ‘s another one just around the corner with almost but not quite the same plot. It’s annoying but a few years on you can appreciate the good ones and this is a good one.

Edgar Wright (Spaced, Hot Fuzz, other Simon Pegg things)has a special timing and way of capturing the ridiculous. Here he shows a very British /Canadian sense of humour and it works superbly. The cast are obviously comfortable with each other and graphically, well, what can I say, you get the works. There isn’t much missing!

I’d prefer to see a bit more quirkyness though… nah, just kidding!

I’d watch this one again and again but it won’t be a classic in my book. Possibly it’s too much like a comic and not enough like a film. Don’t know. Whatever is missing, this is definately a one-off style film. May be similar to others like Super or Kick Ass but here, there is no short fall in effects, characters, acting or direction so defo a good un.
