Too many cliches to mention.

The vision of a bike speeding from a walled city into a barren desert – is it me or does this seem to be a discard Judge Dredd script? Yes, I know it’s from a Japanese comic, but still….!

Paul, you are better than this. And why the American accent when so many are English actors? Lot’s of channelling of Clint Eastwood as well. Give it a break.

No real story after the vampires bit and no depth to any of the action. With monster effects borrowed from Lord of the Rings, this is a sad nothing of a picture that gets boring very quickly. The start has a great build up but then nothing happens except they go for a wee train ride. Fights are nicely violent, I’ll give it that, but I’ve just been watching Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and the fights there are much better.

Not that I should be comparing since my edict is to give a film an independent review for what it is, not what it’s up against. So here it is: don’t bother.

About Simon Trail

There has long been a tradition that a knight will show a crest and / or motto of his family. I shall endeavour to provide such a distinguishing and immediately descriptive thingy over my management of this site. Please be patient. Or Doctor if you're David Tennent.
