Kirsten is a teenage angst kinda girl. It’s just what she does. To my mind, she’s not a sparkling beauty and that’s what Snow White should be all about so there are a lot of hurdles to jump in this one. And it doesn’t get any better with a fake sounding irish/scottish australian as the main guy and a bunch of bad script that doesn’t even bother trying to be interesting. Don’t even mention the waste of time spent on the actors for the dwarves. Why not use real dwarves?
There are times when the effects desperately try to look like there’s going to be enigmatic and fantastical world open up but then the whole lot just turns into a little run and a fight.
Charlise is a nice and evil but again there’s not enough to that part of the plot. Perhaps edit half an hour off and there might have been something more enticing but even then it not the blockbuster it really wants to be, special effects or not.
In the end, Kristen is mismatched and not strong enough for this role but the overall feeling is one of missed opportunities.

Avoid. Go and watch the Disney film. Remember good things, not this drivel.
