Disney used to make good cartoons and good cartoon films. Bolt is an extended cartoon but very obviously in the new computer animated style. Sounds silly to say it since everything animated is computerised now a days but I’d say this one looks like a test of the process rather than an attempt at a box ofice smash.

Fun though it is, the characters seem to just, well, BE there and there isn’t any real grip to any of it. Script isn’t inventive enough for me. Yeah, I know, it’s just a bit of fun but if I’d paid good money to see this expecting another Toy Story or Incredibles then I’d be very disappointed.

Anyway, nice and well animated but you’ll not be missing anything if you give it a miss.
