“God’s going to sit this one out.”

You might watch this and wonder why I like it. There isnt much new here and there isnt much to the story. There are only two big characters and the rest are quite 2D; you know exactly why they exist and what their part in the plot is.

So why do I like it? Well, despite the comic references – of which there are some incredibly OTT examples – there’s an honesty about the violence and the simple movement of reason from one event to the next. I guess you have to give a leap of faith in Thomas’ inability to die. Oh, well, it’s a comic, I suppose.

Extreme use of quirky support acting takes a bit of getting used to but over all I like the sheer straightforwardness of it.

You might not….

Keep DVD?
Yes. I could watch this again and it’s one of those I’d hope to see in a Marvel film collections.

Watch if on TV?
Yes.

Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Defo snog. I’d be pushed to offer The Punisher a ring but probably set it up in a little apartment somewhere and visit from time to time. Is that wrong??

About Simon Trail

There has long been a tradition that a knight will show a crest and / or motto of his family. I shall endeavour to provide such a distinguishing and immediately descriptive thingy over my management of this site. Please be patient. Or Doctor if you're David Tennent.
