If you like ballet then you might like this. If you’ve been or are currently a ballet dancer then lots of this film might mean something to you too. After that I don’t have much to recommend.  Oh, it’s a bit of interest but the drama is weird and the horror isn’t scary. Kinda like a prolonged episode of Tales of the unexpected or the Outer Limits. But those shows have short, sharp shocks and this doesn’t.

Although not dull, Black Swan isn’t entertaining. Mila and Natalie are good.

My guess is that there are a lot of ballet luvvies out there that swoon over this stuff but for the rest of us, nah.

DVD Extras: Didn’t do it for me. Some insights into the ballet and a lot of nonsense about the directors and how they think they’re original.

About Simon Trail

There has long been a tradition that a knight will show a crest and / or motto of his family. I shall endeavour to provide such a distinguishing and immediately descriptive thingy over my management of this site. Please be patient. Or Doctor if you're David Tennent.
