The music sucks and the first half feels like an annoying attempt to make an indie film. Script-wise, all the background characters and incidents are so polarised as to cover every human reaction in quite a clichéd way, the main guys are all very American hero versus something they could not possibly have prepared for and the only headline act who is not as clear cut is, of course, not from the USA but from Australia. Bet they wanted him to be English, that would be even more clear for the audience.

Lots of big names and they play their parts well but there isn’t anything new here. As a film there isn’t much that kept me interested. America takes on the most insidious terror and gets a sore leg but ultimately wins the day and adds to it’s massive stock pile of wisdom about humanity and the difficulties of managing the free world. Again.

DVD Extras: A two minute clip of rubbish. Literally, two minutes.
