“Why is it you only feel the holly when you stop running?”
Gloriously scripted and marvellously costumed and dressed. Here is a look at the trade in bodies through the reasonable men who decided agasint it after 200 years. This part bothered me but I needed to watch it and, within a few minutes, I was relaxed in front of a superb film with fantastic cast that inhabit the characters with all the thunder, charm, bitterness and regret that you would expect. At its heart is a story of people and their individual dramas and schemes. The sentiment is good in that there are awful truths and the film is excellent due to the charm of all those involved. It’s a British period drama that doesn’t force you to wear corsets.
