Huh? Oh, yeah, the film.
Disappointing. Let me tell you why.
As a big screen effort there were explosions, effects coming out it’s arse, plot twists all over the place, big baddies, traumatic turns for the goodies. It has it all.
But that’s the problem. There was too much on the drama and not enough switch-off-your-brain style fun. For me it should be about the suit but in IM3 there are so many suits that there is no place to focus. Robert going off into the wilderness didn’t do anything for me either. Ok, the kid is good, I’ll grant you that. But there doesn’t seem to be any point to him.
Good points: Gwyneth in very little. Again, not sure why it happens but I’m not arguing. Also Guy is stupendous here as is Ben who steals it but also gives glimpses of what could have been.
Too serious, too many attempts to be things. Feels like they took the other films – big entrance then free for all – and tried to piece together plots from thrown away scripts. Also feels like I’m criticising for what I really wanted it to be. Maybe. But I guess it’s not one of those ‘surprise’ shows where no one knows what the main event is. You know what to expect and the delivery of the goods becomes very important.
3D worked ok but don’t know that it was needed or gave much more of an experience.
Watch if on TV?
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Snog Gwyneth in one of the suits.
