2001 A Space Odyssey. that’s the kind of feeling I got about this one. You know exactly what it’s about from the first scene but by the end you still seem to be confused.

Whoever made this was on drugs, I’m certain of it. The atmosphere is one of emptiness and deep thoughts that are never said. The landscape is dark, bleak and undefinable – a bit like the characters. The plot, well, that’s something that you’re never really allowed to find out. Honestly, it’s like being in a boat in the middle of a lake surrounded by mist and hearing things like whales, boats and tigers. Very odd indeed.

Can’t fault the actors for their commitment though, each one is solidly playing the part. there are no sets except maybe a boat and the desolate scenery fair packs a punch.

You shouldn’t go thinking this is an all action or all dialog movie. Neither is true. The lines are sparse and a bit like clues in an Agatha Christie show as you don’t know what they’ll mean but you hang on to every lonely word.

Um. It’s odd, brutal, powerful and I think it might be deep. One for certain types of people, not family viewing and not for those who like watching stuff happen.

Keep DVD?

Watch if on TV?

Snog, Marry, Avoid?

Avoid… but here’s the thing – it feels like it was good… go figure. But still avoid.
