Feels like I should have reviewed this already. Oh, well.

Good film. It’s not up to the standard of the comics which have a much more ground-in feeling about them but as a scifi movie, this is a good one. Having said that, there isn’t much plot. Once we get past the Wolverine bit at the start, the rest is inevitable. No performance stands out except for Hugh who is the absolute star of the show and tries his best to look mean and angry. Problem there is he just looks a bit confused. Anyway, he still manages a kid-friendly violence and the backstories, although very clean and tidy, add immediately to a world of Xmen that’s easy to fall into and go with.

Lots of effects that make sense and loads of references for us comic-geeks though a little disappointed with Scott being played as an all-American kid without deep scars. Really want to see the hurt in that eye. Also didn’t realise before that Ian was putting on a US accent. Did he get rid of that for the others? Need to watch them again to find out! (any excuse for a Com-Film weekend!)

Keep DVD?
Yeah. Like a box set though.

Watch if on TV?
Yes. Did. Many times.

Snog, Marry, Avoid?
X-Snog. Not quite marrying material for me.
