Films used to be rubbish with the occasional well made, money cows. BTTF was a glossy, kid-friendly attempt to cash in on the emerging generation of 80’s sci-fi nerds and it succeeded more than any exec could have hoped!
It’s not original or even with a good plot but what it does really, really well is play with the what-if factor in a funny, gadget-laden, of-it’s-time way with Michael dishing out layers of never-for-a-moment-did-we-think-he-couldn’t-do-it panic.
Skateboards, lightning strikes, mad scientists and cute girls. What a brilliant combo. If only there was a way cool car too…oh, yeah. There was!
You might think you don’t want to watch it but the kid in that serious head of yours says you absolutely do. In fact, do it now. Go on. Watch it and then say those words: Where we’re going, we don’t need roads!
As part of the box set, yes.
Watch if on TV?
Doc! You need to watch this!!
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Marry. It’s a rush marriage over the anvil and maybe with Elvis residing but this is a new-gen old classic.
