“it’s Chinatown.”

Eventually went for it and got this when it was on sale. Heard of it over the years and sometimes you just have to try the classics to find out if they hit the spot.

Jack and Faye are good. Acting on the whole is good. Plot is kinda ok. Locations are wonderful and the costumes department did good too.

The direction, however, and I know I’ll be getting pelters from film-buffs here, was slow and jerky with some timing issues on the delivery of lines. I persevered more than liked watching this one. I mean, I get it, the whole detective thing with some twists set in the semi film noir era. But I wouldn’t see it again.

DVD Extras: Interesting interviews with Roman Polanski, Jack Nicholson and the crew.

Keep DVD?

No
Watch if on TV?
No.
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Snog-Avoid. Nice to have seen but not the best one of this kind and I didn’t get what they must have got at the time. Feel bad but more Avoid than snog.
