At first I was afraid, I was petrified… but then it turned out to be not too bad a movie. A teenage Lord Of The Flies thing that tries very hard to be Battle Royale but with a sweet middle character. Oh, and if you play any computer games then you’ll recognise the entire thing as it’s clearly an FPS.

I mean, this isnt going to be sitting on my shelf but it’s paved the way for the next umpteen iterations in the franchise and I’m not going to be too adverse to watching it. No, you don’t need to be a top lawyer to understand the plot and yes, it is very much polarised between the heros and the bad guys. That said, the production is excellent and even some of the social scenery is nicely done. Still heavy on the poor America versus the rich and abundantly blind-to-fashion toffs.

S’ok. Like so many of it’s type, if you want serious drama, stay away but if you want 20 somethings naively winning against all odds after being thrown in to a warring world that the stupid adults created, then this is for you.
