Another 1960’s style ‘Grindhouse’ movie from Quentin. Another indulgence and attempt to catch the mood of those rubbishy films made on a low budget.
Starts with wobbly titles and then loses steam. There are hints of fun and pastiche but at times it’s too serious and at other times the writing is just a bit dull. There are a couple of scenes that work and at one point near the end I thought it would pick up again but…no. Quentin is probably happy that he gave it a go but to me, these kind of films should be left in the past where they were ‘of their time’ which, if you think about it, makes sense. Duh.
Filmed well. Acting is a little wooden in places. Not very entertaining. Get to the t’internet and download the real thing.
Extras: none. cheap dvd.
