This is much more like a transformers movie than any of the rest. They were just toys, this is the hard-nosed reality.

Action! BLAM! Crashes! SMASH! Grinding metal on metal! CRUNGE! Oh, yes, there’s a lot of carnage here. Human collateral as well. In fact, LOADS of human collateral implied by the battle of the tin machines.

Maybe a bit too much battle but it’s all done well and let’s face it, you know what you’re getting with a Transformers movie.

Mark is good although not very able to take on prat a boyfriend, which is a bit of a shame. I’d have liked to see a bit more two way argy-bargy between them. The bad government guy, Kelsey, is well played but could have been anyone, the bad boss, Stanley, is a bit too OTT as is the bad tranny. Then again, maybe this is a subconscious whole lot of nodding towards the ancestral cartoons as they were not small in their clashes.

With all the earth-quaking going on, it’s still not gonna shake your world but as an addition to the franchise, yes, this is a good, and possibly well needed reboot.

Keep DVD?

As part of the set, and for a bit of nostalgia. Not on it’s own.
Watch if on TV?
Yeah. This one is ok.
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
