“Fizzgig!”

It’s a bit crap and it’s really for kids but it’s also a bit special. This is one of those films that only a few people ‘get’ (like me!) but everyone seems to know and most will watch half an hour of just to see / remember what it was like.

Computer effects are not something to dwell on but the puppets are pure Muppets moulded into strangely believable characters. Those big beetles are fun!

The voice acting isn’t great but the muppet acting is as good as ever. The inventiveness of the fantasy world is probably as big a part as anything else and it’s like watching all your kids’ TV programmes wrapped in a bit of scary.

Watchable with nostalgic eyes and possibly still ok for todays TV, especially at Christmas. Yes, it’s a Christmas movie. You know the kind – comfortable after the big dinner, not too taxing, light entertainment.

Keep DVD?

Yes. Extras would be wonderful. Are there any?
Watch if on TV?
Yep.
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Snog in a fantasy way.

About Simon Trail

There has long been a tradition that a knight will show a crest and / or motto of his family. I shall endeavour to provide such a distinguishing and immediately descriptive thingy over my management of this site. Please be patient. Or Doctor if you're David Tennent.
