Why does America insist on making sure pompous rubbish? If you’re going to take this on then make it serious and not actiony.
Gerard’s performance has some balls and he plays it real and the cold-blooded assassination of people (on both sides) is a bit more believable than normal. But that’s where the fun stops.
After you get past the ridiculously stupid cops and army and also the photos showing people who have never been photographed before, you get to a state of nonsense that only allows for incompetence to fill in the gaps in what is essentially a no-plot film. One thing happens. That’s it. There was a hint of what could have been with Gerard’s straight forward approach but it’s a thin thread running through a Hawaiian shirt of crap.
Predictable and American. Ignore it and hope this kind of rubbish goes away even though you know it never will.
