Some things are getting predictable again and one of them is that Tom goes OTT on the stunts. Nice thought they are individually, it’s like watching a stunt show rather than a film. The plot and drama are left hanging on Tom and Rebecca’s overly anxious yet strangely non-sexual glances.
Bland. There isn’t a team as such it’s just Tom’s supporting cast. Simon – and I love him to bits – is a little less weedy than he needs to be as a counterfoil to macho Bond/Tom, and no one else does anything. It’s all too Tom-centric. Some scenes are worthy of the MI title but a lot is just splash headline stuff and both of us watching this found our minds wandering.
Rebecca is lovely. She’s not as sexy as I’d like in a movie that’s got to hit the extremes and as such demands the men are real men and the women are real women. I’ll give her massive credit for her fight scenes though and ‘that move’ is awesome.
Go see for a bit of fun but there’s an emptiness that should not have been there. Bad direction? Bad script? Too many big stunts? Could be all three. Bring back the real TV series where everyone was important and the plan went to plan.
Yes. Probably best with the box set though.
Watch if on TV?
Yes although might get bored after a couple of times.
Snog, Marry, Avoid?
Snog. Which will, of course, self destruct in 5 seconds.
