I like Scarlett. I’d not say she was the first girl I look at during the start of a movie but she is the one I’ll always end up looking at for most of the end. She’s got an appeal that goes beyond my limited understanding of Hollywood actresses and starts being the girl I want to understand, with a lot of stuff going on behind the eyes.
She’s also very brave to be in roles that are not simply heroic but need a lot of effort put in. This is one of those roles and she certainly shines. Shame the script and direction lapse so much. Starts interesting with a lot of promise of intrigue and other thriller stuff then it declines into a wait for something to happen. Eventually the end is a huge explosion of…meh. Oh, big explosion. But of meh, not excitement.
Morgan’s place in this is subdued and not needed, perhaps a little badly cast, and the initial premise becomes little more than a small x-man skill.
Scarlett is the only reason to watch.
