Disappointing. I so wanted this to be the reboot of such an iconic bugger of a film series but it’s not. There’s no tension, drama or depth of character so need to blame the script for that. Oh, there’s effects galore and real, sometimes unbelievable stunts but the core is empty and Charlie is given too much time to look all deep and meaningful which contradictively led to a plateaued effect and just blanked it a bit. Bleeding Hollywood-style timing. Quick and sharp would have been better as suits the reactive universe it’s filmed in. That’s not her fault, it’s the director with his eye-off the ball. She’s actually good game for going all baldy and half-armed.

Good stuff?  It’s dusty, wild at times, occasional points of interest from all the main cast and certainly fun looking (working!) vehicles mashed from real scrap heap challenges.

The power of the apocalyptic freaks in a mishmash world of kill or be killed came down to a road trip for oddballs. Disappointing.

BLURAY Extras: Lots of behind the scenes, mostly for petrol-heads.

Watchability (once, twice, etc.)
Once.

No.

Yes for the stunts.
